How the rules work

Chores and deductions

A chore is what always gets done at home. You can set a bonus for doing it and a deduction that the nightly check takes when your child doesn't send the chore by the end of the day.

How to set up a chore

  1. In Rules, click Add and choose Something they must do.

  2. Fill in the name, the coins for doing it and the deduction, choose the days and click Save chore.

Your child sees in advance how many coins are at stake for a chore not yet done. Finished chores count toward their Full days.

When the deduction is taken

  • After the day ends, at most once. The nightly check takes the deduction when your child doesn't send the chore that day. A chore that applies only on some days is checked only on those days.

  • A sent chore doesn't trigger a deduction. It waits for your decision. If you decline it after the day ends, the deduction is taken.

  • The deduction belongs to the day it's about, not to the day of the check.

  • One summary arrives around 7 AM. JARVIS doesn't wake you at night.

  • Feel free to leave the bonus empty

Many families use only the deduction. Doing a chore is normal, skipping something costs.

If something doesn't work

A deduction was taken even though your child was sick.
Forgive it, and next time set free days.
Nothing is taken from a newly added child.
Deductions count only from the first time the app is used and from the start day.
